Medium 199 is a vitamin, salt and amino acid solution used in cell culture media. While there are many applications for Medium 199, some of the more common uses are as a vaccine component and virology research. Much like DMEM, there are many modification options with Medium 199, such as adding or removing Phenol Red, L-Glutamine, HEPES, Sodium Pyruvate, Earle’s Salts and Hank’s Salts.
