Dulbecco’s Phosphate-Buffered Saline (DPBS) is a balanced salt solution developed for cell culture and molecular biology experiments. Composed of inorganic salts dissolved in water, DPBS mimics the osmolarity and ion concentrations of extracellular fluid, providing a physiologically relevant environment for cells in vitro. It is commonly used for rinsing, washing, and maintaining cells during cell culture procedures, as well as a diluent for reagents and biological samples in molecular biology techniques.
